Importance

Common in all spring crops. Found in heavy damp soils.

1. The cotyledons are narrow, lance-shaped and downy, borne on a scarlet stem.

2. The first true leaf is long, narrow and hairy, with a silvery appearance.

3. An annual of upright growth habit, differing from redshank as it bears white flowers.
